Blighted we are indeed, the ideal conditions for blight have occurred so if you have escaped so far get spraying between the showers.
The weather has been so wet and then we had some warm weather so the humidity built up and potato blight has struck the allotments. Susan did spray the potatoes and then it got so wet it was impossible to get there to do it again. They got another spraying when a blight warming was issued but it was too late. So the only answer is to remove the tops to stop the disease spreading to the tubers and thus save something from the crop. they will not be very nice as they have not had long enough to develop into nice floury potatoes. Still better something than nothing.
